Get Rid Of Ants

Ant Problem Solution

Ants seem to come in cycles and there are plenty of them some years. The little critters are all around outside and sometimes even inside.

If you have ants here are a couple methods for getting rid of them. It works!

Ant Traps

1/3 cup molasses

6 tbsp. sugar

6 tbsp. active dry yeast

Mix all the ingredients together in a small container until they form a smooth paste. Add a little more molasses if necessary to get that consistency.

Coat strips of cardboard with the mixture or dab into individual bottle caps, milk carton caps, or the plastic caps off pop bottles. Place in and around infested areas, inside or out. If ants are in your cupboards or crawling up the sides of the cupboard, just tack a cardboard strip to the side of the cupboard.

Mix up a batch and leave it uncovered in the cupboard under the kitchen sink where it is always available. It won't spill, and who knows, if you have some ants inside, they may find it.

Reader's Digest book claims this concoction gives the “tiny black intruders a fatal but unchemical dose of indigestion”. It does work, we have used this for years. The potency of this mixture will last for about a week, but less if it rains. It is cheap, easy to replenish and does the job better than any other commercial product we have tried.

Ants Away

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup dry yeast.

Mix well. Pour in jar lids and set near the problem areas. Ants eat it and die.

Method #3:

Banana peel, chopped in pieces and laid on ant hill, works too.
